![]() | Peter Martin is a future Japanese-English translator, a first year Translation Studies student at the Masters level. His background is not in linguistics, like many of his peers. He obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 2020, a B.S. in Pure Mathematics. Japanese was originally an amusement and a pastime taken up after graduation, a self-study undertaken purely for the joy of learning. Now, it is his primary focus and passion. Upon graduation, he plans to seek employment at a Language Service Provider as a technical translator, but he also hopes to delve into the translation of novels. His personal philosophy is to never stop striving in his studies, his work, and his personal life. Every opportunity to learn is an opportunity for personal and intellectual growth, and every relationship is an opportunity to benefit another person. Finally, he aspires to make the world a better place for everyone, in whatever ways are in his power. |
